Dovre

Regions · SE / FI / NO

Three countries. One Nordic home.

Dovre stores every object in Google Cloud data centres in Sweden, Finland and Norway: one copy in each country, and none anywhere else.

01The regions

One copy in each country.

Each region runs on its own power and network infrastructure, so a problem in one country stays in that country.

What “stays in the Nordics” actually means.

  • Storage stays in the NordicsEvery replica is written to a data centre in Sweden, Finland or Norway.
  • Processing stays in the NordicsEncryption and replication run in the same regions as the data.
  • No silent movesData isn't relocated outside the region for capacity, backup or support.
  • EU/EEA throughoutSweden and Finland are EU members and Norway is in the EEA, so GDPR applies everywhere your data is.

03FAQ

About the regions.

Which region is the primary one?

Sweden is the primary storage region. Finland and Norway each hold an independent copy.

What happens if a region goes down?

Your data is served from the remaining copies. When the affected region is back, it is brought in sync again.

Norway isn't in the EU. Does that matter?

Norway is part of the EEA, and GDPR applies there through the EEA Agreement. The same data protection rules apply in all three countries.
